God has some very intimate things He wants to share with you,
things He wants you to be aware of. You may talk about your fam-
ily. You may talk about your children. You may talk about some
personal needs. You need to sit down with God and talk to Him
about these things.

You need to understand God’s still, small voice wants to direct
you and guide you in His perfect will for your life. Yet sometimes --
Christians are like children.

Perhaps you want to say something to your children, but they are
captivated by a television program, toy, computer tablet, etc. You
have to kind of snap your fingers at them to get their attention and
say, “Listen to me! Look at me and listen!”

Then they stop whatever they are doing and look at you so you can
explain to them what you want them to hear. Even then, they don’t
always listen.

Sometimes the same thing happens to you in your relationship with
God, doesn’t it? God will even snap His fingers at you, and He’ll
say, “Look at me! Listen to me!” And you hear what He says, but
you don’t obey. Certainly obedience is a great part of listening to
God. One of the things you need to do during this time is sit down
and slow down. Slow your mind down -- concentrate on the truths
of God.

It is essential to know that He is God. That is the greatest desire
God has for your life. Samuel was one of the mightiest prophets
of the Old Testament. It’s no coincidence that his first assignment
from God necessitated that he learn how to hear God’s voice.

Samuel, who had been entrusted to the care of Eli, the priest, was
lying down one evening when the Lord spoke.

Samuel 3:4-10 - That the LORD called Samuel:
and he answered, Here am I. And he ran unto Eli,
and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he
