Chapter Two

                         How To Listen to God

Psalm 46:10 - The Psalmist has said, “Be still and
know that I am God: I will be exalted among the
heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

What a wonderful truth that is -- to know that God is God.

God desires for you to listen to Him. And most Christians desire to
know how to listen to God more than anything else. But there are
not very many listeners. However, there are a lot of talkers.

Perhaps this is an experience familiar to you. A man began his
quiet time. He would read the Word of God, and then he would
begin to pray. He would pray for himself and for his own personal
needs. He would pray for the needs of his family, for the needs of
his friends, and just talk to the Lord about those particular areas.
Then he would stop and close his Bible and get up and go about
his day. In all honesty -- he really didn’t take the time to listen.

God has some very important principles on how to listen to Him --
some things you need to do that will enhance the voice of God and
help you to avoid some of the mistakes you make every day.

When you really listen -- God has some things to say to you. As
you go about your daily business, you will become aware of the
truths He shares and impresses upon your heart to help you know
how to handle life’s situations. When those situations develop, it’s
almost as if you’ve already gone through them. He gives you ways
to make your life a lot easier in your everyday encounters.
